Update on the 2020-21 Season

Update on the 2020-21 Season

Dear Friends,

Sadly, the Board of Friends of Chamber Music has reached the decision that we must cancel our three spectacular groups scheduled for the first half of the 2020-21 season—the Poulenc Trio, the Ariel Quartet, and the Shanghai Quartet. The State and County regulations regarding entertainment gatherings during this time of COVID-19, and the decision by the University of the Pacific to close Faye Spanos Concert Hall this Fall, have made this decision inevitable.

We don’t yet have sufficient information regarding the two concerts scheduled for Spring, the Frisson Winds and the Parker Quartet, to determine if we will have to cancel those as well. With the rising number of COVID-19 cases in both the State and San Joaquin County, we are not optimistic about being able to offer the Spring concerts, but everything is very much in flux. We will let you know later in the year as the Spring situation becomes clearer.

We know you love the music, just as we do. While we can’t offer you a season ticket package this year, we do want to give you an opportunity to hear the music of the wonderful musicians we had hoped to hear, until we can meet again in person. Please visit the Current Season page on this web site to hear the Poulenc Trio, the Ariel Quartet and the Shanghai Quartet.

Until we can meet again,

Dwane Milnes,
President, Friends of Chamber Music
